Highlights of Macau’s 2025 Budget Plan: Tax Relief and Support Measures

The Macau government has announced a comprehensive budget plan for 2025, focusing on tax relief, community support, and economic growth. From salary tax reductions to housing tax exemptions, these measures aim to ease financial burdens and foster a more inclusive society.

Key highlights include:
✅ 30% salary tax reduction for residents, with higher exemptions for elderly and employees with disabilities.
✅ 60% tax refund on 2023 taxes, capped at MOP 14,000.
✅ Exemptions on business tax, advertising tax, and tourism tax for restaurants.
✅ Housing tax relief: First MOP 3,500 exempted for residents, and rental property tax reduced to 8%.
✅ Cash-sharing plan: MOP 10,000 for permanent residents and MOP 6,000 for non-permanent residents.
